Riley Lee, Australia’s only Grand Master of the shakuhachi, joined Grammy winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist Jeff Peterson at the second “Live House” concert at Italian Forum Cultural Centre, produced by TaikOz and at three concerts at the National Folk Festival in Canberra.

The concerts Haleakalâ, celebrated the music of Hawai’i and highlighted Riley and Jeff’s most recent, award winning CD by the same name. Jeff and Riley’s Natioanl Folk Festival concerts were all before capacity audiences, who showed their appreciation by making Riley and Jeff among the Festival’s top selling artists at the Festival Shop.

Riley’s shakuhachi and Jeff’s ki ho’alu guitar is a musical match made in paradise.

“The warm tones of Peterson’s guitar are complemented beautifully by Lee’s flute. The interplay between ki ho’alu [slack key guitar] and shakuhachi seems so natural that one wonders why it took so long for the two to be combined.” Honolulu Star Bulletin

“Peterson has become one the top 10 Island slack-key superstars and his precision and productivity, combined with the gentle expressions of Lee’s shakuhachi combine to create a timeless nahenahe (soft, sweet and gentle) style without peer.” Honolulu Advertiser
